Hunt Community Renovations: 132 Years of Tradition

At Silverstone Living, we take pride in the balance we’ve struck between our 132 years of tradition and our pursuit of innovative service. What that means is that while we may modernize our communities, we also strive to preserve the history of where we came from.

That’s why throughout 2017, we’re excited to undertake a multi-million-dollar renovation at Hunt Community, a renovation that includes new facilities as well as the restoration and updating of our historical architecture. As of September 2017, many of these renovations are underway. Construction continues in the courtyard areas as we prepare for the addition of our new community area, which will eventually contain the new great room, theatre, and rooftop dining area. The new stair tower we are constructing to provide access to these facilities is also well underway. If you come visit us this month, you’ll also notice that the main entrance is under construction as we create a new lobby flow and repurpose some of the historical rooms at the front of the building, like the Mary Parlor, to be better suited to serve our residents.

Below, we provide a roadmap for all the renovations we’ll be undertaking this year. Throughout the process, we are offering construction pricing discounts that enable new residents to save as much as $20,000, now through November 30th, 2017. We’re expecting quite an influx of residents after the renovations are complete, but it’s the early bird that gets the worm, right? Call our team now for more information on this temporary pricing.

Welcome To A Revitalized Hunt Community

The changes will be apparent the moment you arrive at Hunt Community.

The front lawn will be newly landscaped and have additional walking paths. Plantings will be placed across the lawn. And overlooking everything will be the John Building, where Hunt Community started in 1885. These historical facades will be restored and accented with new porches, returning John Building to all its old grandiosity.

An Open Plan Layout the Moment You Walk In

Inside, you’ll find our lobby expanded and opened-up with a new, open-plan design. This expanded space will include a relocated reception area as well as a lounge for guests and residents alike, complete with a double-sided fireplace and an all-day coffee and refreshment bar.

You’ll discover similar, open-plan renovations in the apartments. In the coming months, we’ll continue removing unnecessary walls and obstructions, maximizing spaces and improving lighting to better match our residents’ lifestyles. Some apartments’ updates are even finished!

Enjoy The Many New Amenities

In addition to the lobby’s new coffee and refreshment bar, Hunt Community will be expanding and improving upon other amenities enjoyed by residents.

Take for example our resident library, which will be revamped with a gas fireplace, cherry millwork, and coffered ceilings, to provide the coziest location for reading.

There will also be a new 56-seat theater, with large windows and French doors. The theater will host events, presentations, and movie screenings—simply draw the shades and bring out the popcorn.

And of course, there’s the Great Room. This will be one of the largest additions, used for meetings and events, with two-story picture windows looking out to the courtyard. Atop the Great Room, there will also be a 1,000-square-foot terrace, complete with an outdoor dining area for residents and guests, protected from the sun by sail shades.

Renovations Are Already Underway

Hunt Community’s renovations will continue throughout 2017, and while we are excited for the changes, we are also doing everything we can to ensure that nothing infringes upon the hospitality promised to our residents.

But there are inevitable inconveniences in every construction process. That’s why through the end of November 2017, we are offering new resident credits worth $10,000 and $20,000. These will apply as long as you initiate your residency by January 31st.

For more information on becoming a member of Hunt Community, you can contact Mary Ann Trujillo at 603.821.1200. Private tours can always be arranged, and contact us for further construction updates.
