Silverstone Living is a non-profit family of active living communities created to provide its residents and members with the benefits of security, peace of mind and the freedom to be themselves. We are continuously working to provide secure long-term retirement solutions for residents throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts. When it comes down to it, we’re more concerned with your overall happiness than a bottom line profit. That’s why you’ll notice that all of the amenities, activities, and services we offer are dedicated to helping you live your best life – regardless of the price tag.

When deciding between a private non-profit retirement community and a for-profit community, here are a few reasons why many New Hampshire and Massachusetts retirees prefer Silverstone Living.

A History Rooted in Senior Care

The origins of Silverstone Living can be traced back to 1885. Formerly known as the Hunt Retirement Home, Silverstone Living has evolved into a family of Life Plan communities with a focus on active living.

We’re constantly looking into new and innovative ways to accommodate the changing needs of each generation. Our service for excellence and passion for helping seniors live fulfilling lives is what has kept us growing over the past 121 years and we look forward to serving you.

People Over Profit

As a non-profit, our mission is to provide comprehensive living options and an active lifestyle for adults aged 62 and better. We’re dedicated to always putting our residents first, instead of measuring our business’s profitability. In fact, over the past 132 years, thousands of residents have been supported financially due to a small bequest left by the Hunt family and our fiscally responsible board of directors. We want all of our residents to have an enriching experience while staying with us, so we will do all that is in our power to ensure that you have a secure Life Plan for many years to come.

A Higher Staff-To-Resident Ratio

When it comes to running our living communities, we’re not looking to cut corners to increase profit. We have an experienced staff to assist our residents at our two active life communities and our high staff-to-resident ratio ensures that all residents will be given the attention that they need.

In a recent study conducted by Government Accountability Office, researchers found that facilities owned by the top ten for-profit chains had the lowest staffing levels, the highest number of deficiencies identified by public regulatory agencies and the highest number of deficiencies causing harm or jeopardy to residents. As a private non-profit, we’re committed to ensuring our residents never have to experience these types of problems.

Affordable Options

We never want any of our members to feel trapped into a contract that they can’t afford or maintain. Our flexible memberships allow you to take advantage of short term and long-term plans and make adjustments to your care plan along the way.

Additionally, while many amenities are included in your monthly membership fee, you can opt in or opt out for additional services. We’ll always be transparent with each of the members that we serve and our care coordinator will have your best interest in mind when helping you plan out your Life Plan with us.

Your Interests Matter

Our mission isn’t to cater to the interests of a board of shareholders. Our mission is to serve you and provide you with the quality care that you deserve. With that, we welcome suggestions from our residents of things they would like to see within their retirement community. Since we are a private non-profit, we are not tied to government or shareholder mandatories, which allows us the flexibility to adjust our care plans to meet the needs of our ever-changing and diverse group of residents.

Our program director plans out activities for the years that have garnered positive reviews from our residents over the years. Whether it’s planning a day trip to Boston or taking part in a craft club, you’ll find that our activities are far from dull and boring.

You Are More Than Just a Number

Silverstone Living has created a home for New Hampshire and Massachusetts seniors for the past 132 years. While we’ve had thousands of residents and members pass through our doors, we’ve dedicated ourselves to getting to know each resident on an individual basis. When you sign-up for Silverstone Living, you’ll be paired up with a care coordinator to ensure that your transition into one of our communities goes as smoothly as possible.
