The Huntington at Nashua Board of Trustees are local business and professional leaders who graciously volunteer their time to guide and fulfill the mission to provide exceptional quality services to the community.
Joel Ackerman of Nashua, NH is a seasoned Technology Solutions Sales Professional, currently working for GN Netcom. He joined The Huntington at Nashua Board of Trustees in 2016. Joel serves on the Parish Council at Parish of the Resurrection and is an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Nashua Lions Club serves as a Commissioner for the City of Nashua on the Board of Public Works. Previously, Joel worked as the Director of Development and Outreach for St. Joseph Community Services.
Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM
Sister Paula currently serves as President of Rivier University, is a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Immaculata, PA. She joined The Huntington at Nashua Board of Trustees in 2014. Sister Paula has more than twenty-five years of experience in higher education administration. Formerly Executive Vice President of Administration at Seton Hall University, she has served in senior roles at Anna Maria College, Mount St. Mary University and Immaculata University. She holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.A.L.S. in Catholic Studies from Georgetown University, and an M.B.A. from Villanova University. Her community involvement includes serving as a Board Member at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, New Hampshire Catholic Charities, Manchester, NH, New Hampshire College and University Council, NH Forum on the Future, Steering Committee member and Nashua Inter-Faith Council.
John Egan of Nashua, NH is a retired Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Lockheed Martin Corporation. Mr. Egan joined The Huntington at Nashua Board of Trustees in 2010 and serves on its Finance and Investment Committee. Mr. Egan previously served on Hunt Community Board of Trustees for eight years, served as Chair of its Finance and Investment Committee, and is a former Director of Silverstone Living. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Grinnell College and the former Chairperson of the Daniel Webster College Board of Trustees and the Naval Studies Board of the National Research Council.
Helen G. Honorow of Nashua, NH is a partner and family law specialist at Barry and Honorow, a Nashua law firm. Prior positions include director at Hamblett and Kerrigan & with the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, DC. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Washington University & received her J.D from St. Louis University. She was admitted to practice law in the states of NH & IL. Governor John Lynch appointed Ms. Honorow to the New Hampshire State Board of Education in 2007. She has served on the boards of Girls, Inc. Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Nashua; Southern NH HIV AIDs Task Force; Nashua Pastoral Care Center; Rotary Club of Nashua West (past President and Paul Harris Fellow); and the Marital Mediation Certification Board. She has also served in various roles on the PTOs of the Pennichuck Middle School and Mt. Pleasant elementary schools. She currently serves on the board of INSPIRE and Gateways Community Services and is chair for the School Council for Nashua High School North.
Peter Labombarde of Bedford, NH is the Director of Gift Planning and Individual Gifts at Saint Anselm College. Peter was appointed to the Huntington Board in 2012. Mr. Labombarde previously served on the Hunt Community Board of Trustees for 8 years and served on its Executive, Finance and Investment and Charitable Funding Committees and was also a Director for Silverstone Living. Mr. Labombarde was formerly the Director, Estate and Gift Planning at The American Cancer Society. He also serves as Moderator, Amherst Congregational Church, President, Lighthouse Hospice Foundation and a Director of CONFR.
Sy Mahfuz of Nashua, NH is the Owner of PRG, formerly Persian Rug Galleries, Inc. in Nashua. He was appointed to the Hunt Community Board in June, 2009 and also currently serves on the Silverstone Living Board of Directors. A longtime Rotarian and past president, Mahfuz has served on boards of a wide variety of local organizations such as the YMCA, Great American Downtown, Nashua Pastoral Care, The United Way of Greater Nashua, Rivier University, Nashua Symphony and a number of others. He received the American Heart Association’s Gold Heart award, in part for his close work with the Dana Farber Institute and its Jimmy Fund. He was named the 1999 National Retailer of the Year and Temple Beth Abraham’s 2010 Person of the Year.
Lori Piper of New Boston, NH is Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending Officer for Enterprise Bank and has over 30 years of banking experience. She joined The Huntington at Nashua Board of Trustees in 2016. Lori also serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, currently serving as the Secretary. Lori has been an active member of Greater Nashua Continuum of Care, currently serving as an Executive Board Member. She has also served on the Board of Directors for both Marguerites Place, Inc. and MP Housing, Inc. and was recognized in 2013 as one of the 25 extraordinary women in greater Nashua by the Nashua Telegraph.
Mr. Prunier of Hollis is Principal and Executive Vice President at Harvey Construction Corp. Bedford, NH. Mr. Prunier currently serves as Trustee, Development Committee at Rivier in Nashua, NH, Director & Board President, Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Nashua, School Board & Development Committee at Bishop Guertin High School & Nashua Regional Director of the NHCF.
Peter Warecki, Chief Executive Officer - Treasurer
Peter Warecki has been the Chief Financial Officer for Silverstone Living, formerly Hunt Senior Living since its inception in May 2000. Peter joined the organization as CFO for Hunt Community in September 1998. During Peter’s tenure, The Huntington at Nashua life care community was developed and built, opening in November of 2004. In June 2011, Hunt Community began At Home by Hunt, a Continuing Care at Home program.
Prior to joining Hunt Community, Peter was Chief Financial Officer for Sowerby Healthcare Inc. for over 10 years. Sowerby Healthcare Inc. operated several long term care facilities throughout southern New Hampshire.
Peter received a Master’s Degree in Health Service Administration from George Washington University in Washington DC and a Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Stonehill College in North Easton, MA. Peter is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in New Hampshire and member of the AICPA (Accounting profession group). He served as a Board member of Leading Age of Maine and New Hampshire from 2006 through April 2015 serving as Chairperson from January 2012 to April 2014. Currently Peter is Chairperson of the Leading Age Maine and New Hampshire Government Affairs Committee.
